
Obituary for Salvatore Gibilisco
Salvatore Gibilisco, 84, of Manalapan, passed away on Wednesday, August, 5th at The Atrium of Matawan. He was born in Salerno Sicily, Italy, lived in Orange and Hazlet, prior to moving to Manalapan in 2003. Salvatore worked at Engelhard Inc for 27 years, retiring 17 years ago as a machine operator. Sal enjoyed watching soccer and when his son was younger he enjoyed going to watch him play baseball, he was such an avid fan of the Yankees, he was watching the game the night he passed, he was a past member of the Italian American Club in Orange, NJ, he loved to sing and enjoyed having a great glass of wine. Salvatore is survived by his wife of 54 years, Antoniette Sasso Gibilisco, of Manalapan; three sons and daughters in-law, Carmelo and Stacey Gibilisco of Tinton Falls, Anthony and Theresa Gibilisco of Keansburg and Salvatore and Darleen Gibilisco of Aberdeen; a brother and sister in-law, Dr. Paul and Janka Gibilisco of Connecticut; two sisters, Paula Amato of West Orange and Maria Gallo of Rockaway, NJ; and seven grandchildren, Alexis, Steven, Angela, Anthony, Mia, Alexander and Adam. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday from 9:45 AM-10:45 AM at St Catherine’s Church 110 Bray Avenue Middletown. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 Am at the church, and the cremation service will be private. The arrangements are entrusted to the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Ave. Keansburg.
As per the regulations imposed by the State of New Jersey, there will now be a maximum of 100 people Maximum Capacity at one time will be allowed in the Church.
